Amazon Sellers, what we can do for you!

amazon fda registration May 11, 2021

All US and foreign facilities that manufacture, process, pack, or store food, beverage, or dietary supplements consumed in the US must register with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The same rules apply for Amazon, requiring that all food, beverages, and dietary supplements sold on their site must comply with FDA regulations for labeling, ingredients, and claims.

Don’t let your brand get shut out from one of the largest markets in the US! Let the experts at US Imports use their knowledge and resources to help you get set to sell!

Our Services for Amazon Sellers:

Navigating the rules and regulations of the United States FDA can be a daunting task. At US Imports, we are experts who have the tools and education to make your experience easy and stress-free. Read below to find out how we can help you.

FDA Registration Help:

Everyone who sells food, beverages, or dietary supplements on Amazon must register with the FDA. Registering with the FDA is made easy at US Imports. Once the registration is complete you will receive a certificate confirming your registration. This certificate serves as a third-party confirmation and is often requested by customers, suppliers, or customs brokers.

If you are located outside of the United States, the FDA requires you to appoint a US Agent. Don’t worry we have you covered; we also can serve as your US Agent. For more information on our registration services for Amazon sellers, check out our FDA Registration page.

FDA Labeling Review:

The FDA is responsible for making sure that food, beverages, and dietary supplements are safe, sanitary, and labeled accordingly. This applies to products that are produced both in the United States and foreign countries. These labels are required for most processed foods such as cereals, frozen food, snacks, etc. For raw produce like fruit and vegetables, labels are not required. It is important to understand FDA laws and regulations to avoid unwanted delays.

Our labeling specialists provide an in-depth review of your label, making sure that it complies with FDA requirements. We review your label and give you a comprehensive report covering the following:

  1. Statement of Identity
  2. Net Quantity Statement
  3. Ingredient List
  4. Manufacturer/Importer Information
  5. Country of Origin
  6. Allergen Statement
  7. Nutrition or Supplement Facts

FDA Claims Review:

Claims are a great way to tell Amazon customers the benefits of your products. A claim is any representation made about a product on the label, website, flyer, or even social media. There are three main types of claims recognized by the FDA.

  1. Health Claims: These are claims that state that a component of the food or the food itself may reduce the risk of disease or health-related conditions. These claims must be backed up by scientific evidence.
  2. Nutrient Claims: Claims that describe a level of a nutrient in a product. Examples include ‘fat-free’ or ‘high fiber’. For food that provides higher than 10% or more of your daily value of a nutrient, this product is considered a “good source”. If your product has higher than 20%, it is considered “high” in the nutrient.
  3. Structure/Function Claims: Describes the role of a nutrient or ingredient on the structure or functionof the human body. For example, “calcium builds strong bones.”

These claims must comply with FDA rules and regulations and if misbranded your products will be denied entry to the United States markets.

Don’t make this mistake. Contact us for help! Our experts analyze your claims and provide suggestions to help you comply with FDA regulations. Click here for our flat-rate prices and more information.

Trademark Registration:

Stand out in Amazon’s saturated market with your brand's trademark. A trademark is any word, phrase, symbol, or design that identifies your product and distinguishes it from others. These words or phrases add value to your brand and sets you apart from your competition. By registering with the USPTO, you can protect your brand from counterfeiting and infringement. At US Imports we do all the work for you. We start by conducting trademark research that provides you the information you need to make an informed decision before you apply. Once you're ready to register, we do that for you too! Simple as that!
